ISO/TC 258/WG 8 holds in person meeting in Berlin to draft standard for Competencies

From Berlin to the Next Review Stage ISO/TC 258/WG 8 Framework for Competencies meet to draft first standard focused on defining competencies for project professionals.

Members of the ISO TC 258 Working Group 8 recently met in Berlin to advance the development of a new international competency standard for project, programme and portfolio management.

Over several intensive days, experts from around the world collaborated to review, discuss, and refine the first working draft, addressing competency structures, terminology, overlaps, and the overall architecture of the standard.

The hybrid meeting enabled significant progress and helped align perspectives from different countries, industries, and professional backgrounds.

Following the Berlin meeting, the draft will advance to the next key milestone which will gather feedback and comments from subject matter experts on the working group.

This upcoming review period will provide members of the working group with an opportunity to contribute feedback and help strengthen the draft before the next stage of development which involves wider committee input..

A sincere thank you to all working group members and participating organizations for their expertise, dedication, and collaborative spirit throughout this journey. Further thanks to DIN, Deutsches Institut für Normung (German Institute for Standardization) and GPM, (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Projektmanagement) for hosting the event.
