ISO/TC 258 is pleased to announce that ISO/DIS 21513, the first edition of a new international standard offering guidance on post-project and programme evaluation, is open for ballot and comment as part of the formal Enquiry stage process until 28 July 2025.
This draft international standard provides structured guidance to help organizations review, assess, and learn from completed projects and programmes, enhancing future planning, decision-making, and value realization. It supports improved organizational learning and portfolio-level performance analysis.
This first edition of ISO 21513 aims to provide practical and structured guidance on the evaluation of projects and programmes following their completion. It supports organizations in assessing whether objectives were achieved, benefits were realized, and lessons were effectively captured to inform future initiatives.
The draft international standard outlines recommended approaches for conducting post-project and programme evaluations, with a focus on improving strategic alignment, identifying improvement opportunities, and enhancing overall performance at both the initiative and portfolio levels. It is intended applicable across industries and organizational types and can be adapted to different levels of project and programme maturity.
