ISO/TC 258 approved new project for the development of an international standard for Project, Programme and Portfolio Management - Requirements. The work will be led by Project Leader Alexandra Tenera from Portugal and should occur over a three year development cycle.
ISO/TC 258 recently approved the establishment of a new working group to lead work on the development of Project, programme and portfolio management -- Requirements. This new ISO/TC 258/WG 13 will build on the research and studies of the disbanded ISO/TC 258/AHG 13 to develop and propose an international standard that can be used across the globe for conformity assessment purposes.
This proposed ISO international standard should provide requirements for establishing, implementing, evaluating, and improving project, programme, and portfolio management. Aligning with the ISO 21500 series, the proposed standard will offer flexibility for organizations to apply either existing guidance or the new requirements, making it applicable to all types of organizations, including public, private, and not-for-profit sectors.
The new WG will be led by appointed Convenor and project leader Alexandra Tenera. The ISO TC 258/WG 13 is expected to complete development of the proposed standard by March 2028.
Interested experts are invited to participate and contribute to the development of this proposed new standard by registering through their respective National Standards Bodies.
