ISO Technical Committee (TC) 176 Subcommittee (SC) 2 Working Group (WG) 29 gives a voice to users and organizations worldwide to support the revision of the Quality Management System Standard ISO 9001.
The working group responsible for revising ISO 9001 recently convened for a week in Detroit. During this meeting, the team started their review of over 2000 comments received from global experts on potential improvements. This effort ensures that ISO 9001 continues to support organizations in enhancing customer satisfaction and remains relevant to its users.
To meet the growing digital needs of stakeholders and society, our experts are working to ensure the next version of ISO 9001 supports SMART access. This will provide up-to-date content at the right time to relevant users, whether they are humans, computers, complex machines, or intelligent devices.
This transition includes close alignment with the Harmonized Structure (HS) for management system standards. The HS ensures that all management system standards (MSSs) are structured similarly, regardless of their application domain. This consistency allows users to easily identify and integrate common requirements between MSSs. Those familiar with one MSS will find it easy to adapt to another, even when using it for the first time.
ISO/TC 176/SC 2/WG 29 is a diverse and inclusive group of experts representing various countries, industries, and organization sizes. We are committed to fostering the participation of young experts and were delighted to welcome our youngest expert to the Detroit meeting.
