We discussed the necessary updates to the standard series to ensure it remains modern and aligned with technological advancements. A key point of discussion was the shift from traditional documentation to information-based systems. Despite this transition, people still tend to reference and visualize concepts through documents during discussions, highlighting the need for a new mindset.

Additionally, we explored ways to enhance collaboration and communication between IEC TC3 and ISO/TC 10, aiming for greater synergy. Overall, the meeting proved to be highly valuable for all participants. IEC TC3 JWG24 is a Joint Working Group under IEC Technical Committee 3, which focuses on documentation, graphical symbols, and technical information representations. JWG24 specifically oversees the development and maintenance of the IEC 81346 series, which establishes structuring principles and reference designations for industrial systems, installations, and equipment.

In the afternoon, ISO/TC10/SC1/WG10 (Working Group 10), which focuses on ISO 7083 and the Validation Team for Technical Product Documentation (TPD) Graphical Symbols, held discussions on standardizing graphical symbols in technical documentation to ensure clarity and consistency across industries. We were also given a particularly compelling presentation showcasing four-dimensional printed (4DP) parts. It introduced proposals on graphical symbols in the form of transformation indicators. This innovative approach could potentially lead to a new standard proposal.

A huge thank you to our hosts—SAC, CAM, and CPCM—for providing an outstanding meeting venue, excellent facilities, and a fantastic work environment.
