WG22 – Three-Dimensional Modeling: This group focuses on standards related to the creation and documentation of 3D models for mechanical products, covering definitions, modeling processes, and verification requirements. We reviewed comments on the second committee draft of ISO/CD 24351, which outlines the general requirements for constructing 3D models for mechanical products.
WG23 – Finite Element Analysis (FEA): This group works on standards for FEA documentation, ensuring consistency and clarity in how finite element models and results are presented. Discussions covered committee draft comments on ISO/CD 6032, which defines general requirements for structural analysis of mechanical products using the FEA method. We also explored the new work item proposal for ISO 25562-1, titled Mechanical Products Design Optimization and Documentation – Part 1: Framework.
A special thanks to our hosts—SAC, CAM, and CPCM—for providing an outstanding meeting venue, excellent facilities, and a fantastic work environment.
