Working group 17 managed to meet in the morning session and went through the ISO 10209:2022 Terms and definitions standard and gave updates on the current status. The standard establishes and defines terms used in technical product documentation relating to technical drawings, product definition and related documentation in all fields of application. The terms have been classified into specific fields of application.
ISO/TC 10 SC 10/WG 13 – Graphical symbols for diagrams (Afternoon session)
Working group 13 of SC10 managed to meet in the afternoon session and went through the ISO 14617-1:2005 Graphical symbols for diagrams Part 1: General information and indexes. This current version of the standard will soon be expected to be replaced by the ISO/DIS 14617-1. The part 1 of the standard serves as an introduction to all the other parts of ISO 14617. In particular, it gives information on the creation and use of registration numbers for identifying graphical symbols used in diagrams, rules for the presentation and application of these symbols, and examples of their use and application.
ISO/TC 10/ SC 10/JWG 10 – Reference designation system (Morning and Afternoon session)
The joint working group 10 of SC 10 on the work on reference designation systems (RDS) had a whole day meeting and managed to go through all the various topics covered in the agenda of the day. First we discussed the technical specification ISO/CD TS 81346-101, Industrial systems, installations and equipment and industrial products — Structuring principles and reference designations — Part 101: Modelling concepts and guidelines for power supply systems. Then was the committee draft on IEC/CD 81346-2, Industrial systems, installations and equipment and industrial products — Structuring principles and reference designations — Part 2: Classification of objects and codes for classes discussed. Also the new various parts of 81346 series of standards, i.e. Part 11: Power transmission and distribution systems, Part 12: Construction works and building services, Part 13: Chemical Plants, Part 14: Manufacturing systems, Part 16: Infrastructure systems, Part 20: Aircraft systems, Part 50: Processes was also reviewed and discussed.
