ISO/TC 10/SC1/JWG12 TPD and GPS harmonization (Morning session)
First on the agenda was to discuss progress of the new standard ISO/DIS 20223:2024 Technical product documentation (TPD) —Representation and identification of situation feature.

The purpose of this new proposed standard is to standardize the means to graphically present, represent and identify the situation features of a single feature or of a compound feature (collection of features), thereby, explicitly indicating the relationship between an integral feature and its situation features.
A number of issues were addressed, including the need to create a clear framework and instructions for what rules we should have to present symbols in 3D and also how to supplement and clarify the rules for symbols in 2D.
The next JWG12 meeting is in Lund on September 10th 2024 in connection with the ISO/TC 213 plenary meeting series.
ISO/TC 10 WG20 Design and documentation for manufacture, assembly, disassembly and end-of-life processing. (Afternoon session)
First on the agenda was to introduce the new proposed convener for WG20. We are still awaiting the formal result of the committee internal ballot (CIB) on the issue to accept the new convenor.
Following the successful publication and uptake of ISO 8887 part 1 and part 2 of the standard series, we also discussed the launch and positive progress of the new work item to develop the part 3 of the standard series, i.e. ISO/AWI 8887-3, Technical product documentation — Design for manufacturing, assembling, disassembling and end-of-life processing — Part 3: Selection of an appropriate end-of-life design strategy.
