International Standard published

The English version of the second edition of ISO 1750 (Pesticides and other agrochemicals — Common names) has been published.

The Standard no longer contains the common names and their supporting information; instead, it contains a link to an XML data set that is hosted on the ISO website. The data set contains the common names and their supporting information. Until a new edition of the Standard is published, the data set will be updated annually with new common names, so that they can be published without requiring an Amendment. The XML data set can be viewed in normal web browsers.

The following common names that have been approved since Amendment 7 to ISO 1750:1981 was prepared are included in the data set:

anisiflupurin, benquitrione, bipyrazone, broclozone, chloroinconazide, cyproflanilide, cypyrafluone, dioxopyritrione, fenmezoditiaz, fenpyrazone, fluchloraminopyr, fluchlordiniliprole, flufenoxadiazam, flufenoximacil, flumetylsulforim, fluoxytioconazole, flusulfinam, indazapyroxamet, iptriazopyrid, ledprona, metarylpicoxamid, pyriflubenzoxim, rimisoxafen, seboctylamine, spidoxamat, spirobudifen, tiorantraniliprole, trifluenfuronate and tripyrasulfone.

This new edition of ISO 1750 can be purchased in printed and PDF versions from ISO 1750:2023 - Pesticides and other agrochemicals — Common names or from national standards bodies.

The XML data set already contains French versions of the common names and their supporting information. However, ISO/CS has not arranged for the three pages of the Standard to be translated into French, and so ISO 1750:2023(F) Produits phytosanitaires et assimilés — Noms communs will not be published.
