ISO/TC 67 has published the latest issue of its quarterly Communiqué. Digital transformation of standards was already a hot topic; now all standards development activities have also entered the digital arena. As can be read in the Communiqué, ISO/TC 67 continues to deliver standards needed by the oil and gas sector in close cooperation with stakeholders and good coordination with other standards bodies. Talking about transformation and oil and gas, in view of the transition towards a low carbon emission economy, ISO/TC 67 also started reviewing its scope as members share the view that the scope does not totally reflect their today’s and tomorrow’s activities. This perfectly fits to the theme of this year’s edition of World Standards Day “Protecting the Planet with standards”. ISO/TC 67 will celebrate World Standards Day on the first day of the 2-day virtual plenary meeting on 14 and 15 October 2020.
