Kjell Ivar Bakkmoen from Norway has been re-appointed as Chair of SC 13 "Organization of information about construction works" for another three years until the end of 2017.
As Kjell Ivar had already had this role for nine years, his re-appointment had to be approved by ISO's technical board, ISO/TMB. The approval for another three-year term came this week, and this means that Kjell Ivar will be chairing SC 13 until the end of 2017. SC 13 is sometimes referred to as "the openBIM committee", as it focuses on developing standards related to building information modelling.
In addition to his chairmanship in SC 13, Kjell Ivar also sits on the Executive Committee of buildingSMART International, which is a liaison organisation to both ISO/TC 59 and its SC 13.
