Meet the new Chair of ISO/TC 59, Øyvind Skarholt (Norway).
With the new year came changes to the leadership of our technical committee. Per Jæger, who was appointed Chair of ISO/TC 59 in 2011, has now passed the baton to Øyvind Skarholt, also from Norway. In May 2019, Skarholt was approved by ISO's Technical Management Board, ISO/TMB, as Chair Elect until the end of 2019 and as new Chair from 1 January 2020 until end 2023.
Skarholt holds a degree from the Norwegian Air War Academy and throughout his career, he has been in leading positions as chairman for organisations such as buildingSMART Norway and the Norwegian EPD Foundation. He has experience from contractors and distributors and is currently the CEO of Norsk Byggtjeneste AS. He also has experience from national and international standardisation work.
