This summer, ISO/TC 59 launched a ballot for the approval of convenor to the new ISO/TC 59/WG 3 "Modular coordination". The ballot also served as a call for experts to participate in the working group.
WG 3 is a new working group directly under ISO/TC 59 that will look to consolidate and update several of the standards on modular coordination that were developed under now disbanded ISO/TC 59 subcommittees. Some of these standards are very short and have not been updated in many years, and so we are very pleased that we will now be able to ensure that they are state of the art. The planned consolidated standard will also be a lot more user friendly.
On 1 August, the ballot ended and Ms Suwei WEI (China) was officially approved as the working group convenor. Furthermore, China, Japan and Mexico nominated experts and Mauritius announced that they will establish a national mirror committee that will follow the work of WG 3.
Anyone interested in becoming an expert in WG 3 can join the work at any time by contacting their national member body.
The new working group is planning to meet in Madrid in October in conjunction with the scheduled ISO/TC 59 Advisory Group meeting.
