The latest addition to the ISO/TC 59 structure, SC 19 "Prefabricated building", will have its first plenary meeting on 20 and 21 June. Sounds interesting? Contact your national member body to be registered.
The new subcommittee on prefabricated building was proposed by the Chinese member body SAC in 2021. Its establishment was first approved by ISO/TC 59 and this was then ratified by ISO's Technical Management Board, ISO/TMB. Both entities had some comments to the initial committee scope and so some possible adjustments will now be discussed at this first plenary, which is held as a virtual meeting. Other topics to be discussed are the organisation of work, potential liaisons and a potential work programme. The secretariat of SC 19 is held by SAC and the leadership consists of the SC 19 Chair, Mr Boyue Yin (China) and the SC 19 Committee Manager, Mr Binhui Lin.
Meeting participation on the committee level (technical committee or subcommittee) is by country, so if this is of interest, please contact your national member body for further information and possible registration as part of your national delegation. The registration deadline is 6 June.
