ISO 18646-4, Robotics — Performance criteria and related test methods for service robots — Part 4: Lower-back support robots (draft)
This International Standard will describe methods of specifying and evaluating the performance of lower-back support robots.

Figure 2 - Dimension ratio and mass distribution of a test machine
This project was initiated to provide the evaluation procedure for performance of lower-back support robots, including assistive torque and reduction of compression force on a virtual spinal disk.
ISO 18646-4 is intended to facilitate understanding on performance of lower-back support robot between users and manufacturers. It defines the important performance characteristics, describes how they shall be specified, and recommends how they should be tested.
