The meetings in Seoul included the meetings of subcommittees TC282/SC01‐04. The meeting also included experts groups WG2 Terminology and Communication task group (CTG) and Chairman Advisary Group (CAG) that resides under TC 282.
On Wednesday, May 16th, a technical tour was held. The tour included a visit to the Water Seoul Recycling Center & Seoul Sewerage Science Museum. The Museum was wonderful and told the story of the Wastewater network and Treated wastewater in Seoul, a city of 10 million people. The sewerage facilities are used to prevent flooding by removing rainwater and keep urban areas clean through wastewater treatment. The water that flowed in the canal, in the past, was polluted for many years. A main canal in the center of Seoul now receives the treated wastewater flows. Recently the area was developed and along the sides of the stream a promenade with vegetation was developed for recreation and tourism.
The meetings had a very good atmosphere of cooperation and mutual assistance to improve the work within the TC. All the committees made good progress in developing their standards.
The next TC meeting will be held in Shenzhen on the week of November 17th, 2018.
