After reaching its 100th meeting milestone, Working Group 2 (Metrics) is consolidating technical specifications, updating reporting metrics for ISO 30414:2025, and developing new guidelines to help organizations optimize workforce measurement and outcomes
Working Group 2 (WG2) Metrics is currently consolidating sixteen individual Human Resource Metrics Technical Specifications into one Master Technical Specification. This consolidation will reduce the page count by over 100 pages and include improved technical detail to better support users.
At the same time, WG2 is updating reporting metrics to align with the revised ISO 30414:2025 standard on Human Capital Reporting and Disclosure.
Looking ahead, WG2 is developing a new standard titled "Guideline for Applying Human Resource Metrics," expected to be completed by the end of 2025. This guideline will offer:
- Clear definitions of metric types and their uses
- Insights on interpreting metric results and their organizational impact
- A framework for measuring current and future workforce data
- An explanation of the “workforce lifecycle” and related data flows
- Root cause analysis techniques for solving complex organizational challenges using metrics
- Practical tools for HR practitioners, managers, and business owners to link data, metrics, and organizational outcomes effectively
The years 2025 and 2026 promise to be a busy and productive time for Working Group 2 as these initiatives progress.
