ISO 30415:2021 HR Management – Diversity and Inclusion

Creating value for organizations, people, communities and society

The purpose of this international standard is to help develop a more inclusive and equitable workplace, create organizational value, and support the achievement of strategic objectives. It recommends D&I actions, presents potential outcomes and identifies measures for organizations to adopt. It provides a framework to promote D&I, achieve D&I objectives and evaluate their impact on operations and stakeholders.

ISO 30415 is structured around the employment lifecycle, from workforce planning to cessation of employment. It also incorporates guidance for fostering D&I in the design, development and delivery of products and services, and in stakeholder relationships, including promoting decent work in supply chain partner organizations.

The increasing interest of ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) investor organizations in human capital management and reporting, and in the UN sustainability agenda, means that ISO 30415 has utility for organizations seeking to demonstrate how their commitments to the UN Sustainable Development Goals are being met within the organization and its sphere of influence.

Specifically:

  • decent work and economic growth (SDG8);
  • industry, innovation and infrastructure (SDG9);
  • gender inequality (SDG5); and
  • reduced inequality (SDG10).

Implementation of its recommendations should be material to organizational context, identified objectives, and D&I risks and opportunities.
