Join us and shape the future of HCR
When ISO 30414 Guidelines for internal and external human capital reporting (HCR) was first published in 2018, it truly was a game-changer. The standard development was led by Germany and included a broad, diverse community of global experts*, ensuring universal applicability. The international standard’s balanced approach towards both quantitative and qualitative aspects of human capital reporting was unique. In 2018, it was a comprehensive guideline, unlike anything else available at the time.
In the years since, multinational organizations have applied this standard to inform key stakeholders of human capital outcomes, and thus provide the impetus for continual improvement. Regulators and governance bodies across different countries have referenced ISO 30414 as a guide on human capital reporting. Japan, for instance, has eagerly adopted the ISO 30414:2018 standard, demonstrating that the principles of workforce sustainability and stakeholder interests are not confined to any specific geography, industry or organization.
However, as the context of organizations continues to evolve at an unprecedented pace, human capital reporting standards should remain relevant and effective. Since the standard was published, the world has been through monumental shifts. The global pandemic, which has been a once-in-a-century event, forced us to reimagine our ways of working and demonstrated the significance of human capital as a key driver of organizational resilience and stakeholder value creation. Additionally, the realm of artificial intelligence (AI) including the impact of Generative AI, has expanded rapidly, with the potential of revolutionizing an organization’s approach to work and how data is used and leveraged for decision-making, with profound implications for organizational / corporate policies, workforce skills, roles, engagement and well-being.
Recognizing the dynamic nature of the world of work, ISO TC 260 decided to revise ISO 30414 to improve and update this international standard. Consequently, the Working Group (WG7) has committed to bringing the next generation of ISO 30414 to the global community. This revision, led by Canada, will ensure that ISO 30414 continues to provide effective guidance for human capital internal and external reporting.
If you are interested in building and learning from a global network while influencing this transformative initiative, we invite you to participate in shaping the future of internal and external human capital reporting.
