ISO/TC 251 has held its 7th meeting in May 2019 in Nanjing, P.R. China. Ballots for ISO/DTS TS 55010 Guidance on alignment of financial and non-financial functions in asset management and ISO/CD 55011.2 Asset management – Guidance for  public policy makers had been conducted prior to the meeting and received approval, together with comments and suggested improvements. ISO/DTS 55010 is planned for publication in Q3/2019 and ISO/CD 55011.2 will be released to DIS by November 2019.

The United States General Accountability Office recommends the Office of Management and Budget take steps to improve information on asset management to reflect leading practices.

A ballot on a Final Draft International Standard (FDIS) for the revision of ISO 55002 Asset management -- Management systems -- Guidelines for the application of ISO 55001, had been conducted and received 100% approval, with 3 abstentions. In addition,  Committee Drafts of ISO/CD TS 55010.2 Guidance on alignment of asset management, finance and accounting and ISO/CD 55011 Asset management – Guidance for developing and adopting public policy for asset management were circulated for review (but not for ballot) and received a number of comments suggesting improvements.
