The Strategic Business Plan, or SBP, of ISO/TC 210 is available on the ISO website, was last revised in 2015. With the recent publication of documents like ISO 13485, ISO 16142-1, ISO/TR 80002-2, and several parts in the series of ISO 18250 and ISO 80369, the SBP deserves to be updated.
The SBP is intended to provide context and rationale for the ongoing work program and foreseen in an ISO Technical Committee. There are many reasons for a revisit. Such as the revision of ISO 14971 on risk management for medical device manufacturers. The revision of one of the most referenced standards in the sector was agreed at the plenary TC meeting in Delft, the Netherlands, November 2016. Also the work on standards for innovative designs for connectors in healthcare ("small-bore connectors") will enter a new phase.
ISO/TC 210 is expected to present an updated version of the SBP at the plenary meeting in Hiroshima, Japan, October 2017. Suggestions for the draft version of SBP 2017 are gladly accepted until 15 August 2017.
