Sergio Mujica, ISO Secretary-General, has awarded Jeff Eggleston the ISO Excellence Award for his contributions as convener of ISO/TC 210 WG3. Jeff succeeded Chuck Sidebottom in this role in 2018 and further advanced the standardization of medical device symbols, specifically ISO 15223-1. Jeff was very diligent and persistent in addressing the complexities related to the Vienna Agreement and the EU regulatory changes. Together with the incoming ISO/TC 210 WG3 convener, Lena Cordie-Bancroft, he successfully completed the negotiations, allowing for ISO 15223-1, Edition 4 to be published both as both ISO and EN ISO documents. Jeff has been a dedicated and avid contributor to the development of international standards and the medical device industry. His contributions are greatly appreciated, and this award is given to him in recognition of this. Thank you Jeff – and we look forward to more contributions in the future!!
