A new international environmental standard has joined the well-established ISO 14000 series. ISO 14083:2023 details how to quantify and report on GHG emissions arising from transport chain operations for passengers and freight.
What does ISO 14083:2023 cover?
It provides requirements and guidance for the quantification, assignment, allocation and reporting of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for transport chains for passengers and freight.
It specifies how to source data as inputs for the calculation of GHGs, taking into account that transport operations vary hugely.
It covers all modes of land, water and air transport, includes the operational emissions from transport hubs, and is applicable along the entire transport chain.
