ISO/CD 14067 on Carbon footprint of products — Requirements and guidelines for quantification was recently balloted and ISO/TC 207/SC7/WG8 Convenor, Daniele Pernigotti, reports on the results.
The majority of national standards agencies, 35 to 7, have voted in favor of the CD of ISO 14067.
“This is an important acknowledgement for the work done so far by the WG8”, says the convenor Daniele Pernigotti, “in an atmosphere always of great collaboration and participation by all the experts. It is well known that the CFP is such an important tool in fighting climate change, as well as sensitive at an international level. We must therefore continue to work in this climate of full collaboration in order to complete the development of the standard satisfactorily and within the established deadline”.
The comments received on the CD will be discussed by the WG during the second week of June in Halifax, Canada, in conjunction with the Plenary Meeting of ISO/TC 207.
In addition, it has to be highlighted, that last year, the coverage of ISO 14064-3, the standard for GHG emission verification, was officially extended to the CFP verification as well.
