Alcance

ISO/IEC JSyC Metaverse is being supported administratively by IEC. All information related to ISO/IEC JSyC Metaverse is available on the IEC web site

Standardization in the field of the Metaverse:

• Provide oversight and end-to-end system view of the Metaverse.
• Consider the associated user needs, technology enablers and social constraints for the creation and development of the Metaverse.

The mission of the SyC will encompass three main topics:

• Focus on end-to-end experience of the Metaverse.
• Systemic study of the Metaverse, with the ambition to develop reference architectures of Metaverse products.
• Coordination and communication between various IEC and ISO Committees addressing foundational technology enablers for the Metaverse.

The SyC will not be responsible for developing the technology enablers but rather for engaging with all current and future Committees in IEC, ISO, any of IEC and ISO’s joint technical committees including JTC 1, and other SDOs, that are creating the various components to enable the Metaverse.
